This is a big boy. I am really unsure what he weighs. Trying to lift him onto the scale with me, then put him down and keep him OFF the scale while I weigh, then subract the second weight from the first weight, then convert it all into pounds rather than kilos, all with a scale that is not accurate all the time....is too much math in a day for this English teacher. So, I am not sure. But I will say this...he's heavy. He hit 20 lbs at 3 months. And now at 15 1/2 months old, our arms and backs are ready for this milestone called WALKING.
On Christmas Day, he took a step to Papa (actually he took one to me first while Papa was unloading the van, but I'm not telling, so don't you...). His first official step. But then he went back to scooting (when on hardwood or tile) and his pitiful one-legged crawl (when on rugs). That scoot/crawl combination, I am certain, could have made me lots of money on street corners here had I just known how to market it. But, anyway, back to the point. After his first official step, the light bulb went back out. He either didn't remember it or felt it would be nicer to tour Antalya and the coast in our arms.
Well today, January 9, he just flat out let go of the coffeetable and did it. The next thing I knew he was 6 steps in to it and going strong. We quickly figured out the bait to get him to do it again. The remote. Hold that thing out and the little booger will walk 1/2 way across the room for it. What a man will do for control of the remote. Congratulations, big boy! Well done, strong arms, you may take your leave of absence.

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Well done, Big Ben!!! Your arms might grow to miss the daily workout, lol
Way to go big boy!
For the remote?! LOVE it!!
Anna didn't walk until she was 18 months and the pediatrician sent us to a physical therapist to be evaluated (she'd taken maybe a step or two but wouldn't walk). At the appointment she walked all over the place like she was in a beauty pageant. The little stinker! It wasn't a matter of could....she just liked being carried around like the princess we'd told her she is.
How could anyone resist that face? What a doll!!
Way to go Ben!! Way to go Sara . . Uh, just wait. The adventures are about to begin. :)
Suffice it to say I am REALLY looking forward to your posts from here on out as mother of a toddler boy! :) I have already started giggling.
