Irregular Boy

I always knew I had an uncommon boy. But it wasn't until I started feeding him solids about 2 months ago, that I knew he was also irregular.

The typical first baby foods are...rice, bananas, applesauce. Those are also the things doctors here tell us to eat when we get parasites. The BRAT diet..bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

But those things are all making my baby a very irregular baby. The problem is, those foods I need to feed him to make him a regular boy, are not available until they are in season. I have been waiting and waiting for the peaches to come in. The prunes to appear. I finally spotted some early-for-the-season apricots. I snatched up a very small box. The grocer stuck a label of 16TL on it after weighing it. (US$10). I put it back. Couldn't justify it. Even to have a regular baby.
I was discussing this with my best Turkish friend, who also has a baby. She had the idea to buy dehydrated fruit and rehydrate it. Brilliant! Why hadn't I thought of that? Turks dry everything and eat it all winter. So, yesterday I bought a box of dehydrated apricots. Then I re-hydrated them.

Want to know how?

How to Re-hydrate:

1. Boil them.

2. Wait til they get mushy.

And now I am happy to say I have a very uncommon, but regular little boy.

You have an angel! How could anyone keep from scooping him up and hugging and kissing?

P. S. Dehydrated fruit is a brilliant idea! I did that once here when apricots were out of season and way too expensive! Never would have thought of it for baby food.
