Well, I got "the call." You know. The one where they call you from school to tell you that you "might want to be present at the awards presentation for the Science Fair." And I got a lump in my throat. Why? Not because I so desire her to win every award possible, and this is just one step toward that goal. But simply because somehow I blinked my eyes and she went from this...
to this.

Oh I just love the nostalgia!! Congrats to Mary Erin.
Remember how many times I'd write you about Kathleen and say it wasn't about the award?
Even if you don't remember, I can relate to what you are saying. I know how you feel.
It's hard to explain but to watch them grow and achieve what they work so hard for is something else, isn't it?
Yesterday I watched my oldest son walk down a long sidewalk, through a fence, and onto a baseball field to try out for the high school baseball team. Nothing special to anybody else, right? But in my heart I was watching my 'little boy' taking the first steps toward his dream. My eyes filled up with tears and I found myself asking God to please go with him on the journey he is about to take.
We just can't help it, can we? You'd better buy stock in Kleenex for the future is all I can say. It is just beginning. :)
