Happy Thanksgiving

My blog is going to be a little bit out of order, but I wanted to post this to wish everyone far away a VERY Happy Thanksgiving weekend! We had such a lovely day. Back in the early days of the school, back when we were small, we worked a 1/2 day, then came home and cooked turkey for dinner that night. These days we get Thursday off. I was blessed to find a turkey (that's right...turkeys can be hard to find in Turkey!), and that one of our guests offered to take the bird off my hands and smoke it! Mmmmm. You must know that turkeys were named for the country of Turkey. The early Americans thought the bird came from this part of the world.

We had quite the spread! And someone was quite ready to eat. I was given a ham last Spring. I froze it and saved it for this special day and my special guests.
We got to have a baby at our house this year!!!
After lunch, the teens and our IT guy played board games.

We had the Macy's Day Parade (not this years, it doesn't start until 4PM our time, so streamed last year's parade) on in the background and just enjoyed chatting.

And gaming.

Sweet Cheeks couldn't get enough of this sweet baby. And I couldn't stop thinking how much I miss babies.

Here's the whole group. They blessed us by sharing this special day with us! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Sara! So much to be thankful for! So much God has done for our family. One year ago this time I did not know what the future would hold and whether or not I'd live to see another year . . . I can't thank God enough that He said it was not time for me yet and my body is healing.

Kathleen is now the assistant city attorney for a large metropolitan area. I am watching things come to fruition in her life and seeing a glimpse of the influence I have always know she was going to be. She's not through yet. The journey God is taking her on is quite a journey. My youngest son is doing what has been the desire of his heart since he was a young boy. He is serving in the United States Coast Guard, working in rescue operations. His is also quite a story. I am watching his relationship with God grow. I see such character in my son, such courage, such an innocent heart. He is quite a young man and God is not finished with him either.

My other two children are walking different paths as they grow their relationship with God. He is training them and developing the tremendous talents they both have. I don't know where the road will lead them but they are walking by faith what they feel they are meant to do.

Then I am married to the most wonderful husband in the world. I think back to the days when David and I were both single and we were each praying for God to choose our spouses. Thirty years later I look back and see the benefits I have reaped because God answered those prayers. I have seen it this past year especially.

So you can see what a blessed woman I am. I have nothing to complain about and everything to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!
