Capturing Cappadocia: Pigeon Valley Hike

We went for a hike in the Pigeon Valley, which connects two little towns.
 Firstborn took these of me.

And then I took this of her. I don't remember being so cute in the seventh grade.
It was nice to see some signs of Spring after such a long, harsh winter.

We hiked a long, long way. And then the path became non-existent because of falling cliffs and rock faces. I planned to take the two Turks and Firstborn back, to rest and have water, and let CC try to find a path and finish the hike with the middle girls. I would then drive and pick them up at the next town. Surprisingly, Sweet Cheeks would have none of it. She wanted to finish her hike, too. Long ago CC made up hiking nicknames for all of them: Trail Blazer, Trooper, Scout, and little Sweet Cheeks (then called Perma-Baby) was Knapsack. I think we all know why. But our little Knapsack wanted to finish the hike in the direct sun, without water, until they reached the town. They didn't find a path to take them all the way, bless her. And those little cheeks stuck out so much she got a sunburn on them, but we are certainly considering re-naming her now!
