Goynuk: our first morning

Normally between Christmas and New Year's we travel to the Mediterranean Coast. Since there's no family around to visit, it helps us through the holidays to have that to look forward to. This year we traveled a little further than normal to the town of Goynuk. It was beautiful, as the entire region is. Our Turkish friend found us a rock-bottom-price hotel which included our stay in a little villa adjacent to the hotel and included all the food we could eat. They served breakfast, lunch, dinner, after-lunch snack, mid-afternoon tea and cookies, and a late meal. Oh, and all the drinks you could want all hours of the day. If you know my kids at all, you know the hotel didn't make much money on us!
We came out of our villa the first morning and found orange and banana trees. It reminded CC and me of the banana tree just outside his classroom our first year in Singapore. Here the girls are sporting their new shirt/scarf sets from Grandma for Christmas. They couldn't wait to wear them. Aren't they cute?
Growing so fast...
The hotel was built in the shape of a ship...the Queen Elizabeth. We didn't know exactly where it was, so as we drove through the little towns, we decided when we spotted it, to shout, "Land Ho!" They kept the nautical theme throughout the hotel. Most of the out-of-towners were Russian. We were the only Americans.
This beautiful place never ceases to amaze me. The mountains literally drop into the sea. Thanks, CC, for taking us.
More tomorrow!

FUN!!! Um, I'm going to risk saying that I do not like being on vacation with the neighbors to the east. Even worse to be cooped up on a plane with them!
