Why do I get the idea you have really enjoyed your time in the country this summer???? :)
These are great pictures.
I have to tell you something and the blog may not be the ideal place but you make hay while the sun is shining and since I am here . . .
Today is our "little" girl's 19th birthday over here, and one of our birthday traditions is called "Garconship." It was started many years ago when we didn't have a lot of money for birthday presents/parties, lived way out in the country (no neighbors) and I had to be creative so the kids could have a special day. Garconship (named by Kathleen and Karoline) is simply being the birthday person's slave for a day.
In our house, we have two garconship days per birthday person. One on the actual birthday and the other on a day of their choosing . . . . Thus avoiding school interferences. :) You get the idea.
Matt is a little Napolean and runs everyone to death so that they are all ready to get their revenge when their birthdays come but always end up being too soft hearted.
Knowing this, and being a very serious little guy, Matt prayed the day before Karoline's birthday that he would be a good garcon to Karoline and guess what? He has been amazing and has not complained one time.
I am not sure why I thought you would want to hear that story in this blog about your kids, but it always seems as if we should just sit down over a coke and have a good talk (and laugh) about raising kids and all they go through. I guess that is what I feel like when I am commenting and thus the reason you get such long dissertations from me. :)
A sign that I enjoy reading about your family. [smile]
