It's My Birthday! (And CC's!)

Well, today I begin my first day of my last year in my 30's. It's just hard for me to believe. I have had such a full, precious life. God has been so good to me. The verse, "The nearness of my God is my good." stands out to me today. I am blessed with 5 beautiful, God-honoring children (well, we're trying to achieve that anyway!), great friends, a wonderful place to serve, peace in my heart that I know my eternal destiny. And I share this special day with my husband. I can honestly say I am married to the godliest man I know. Ok, he can be a bit grumpy when working on home projects, but other than that, he's got it all together. Oh, and he also packs at the last minute. But other than that, he's perfect.

I will never forget my 2nd date with him. It was the end of October 1994. We went to the T G I Fridays near the agricenter in Memphis. It was very much still at that "get to know each other" stage. At one point, I said, "Ok, guess my birthday." He thought, then said, "February 9." I said, "You looked at my driver's license, how did you know that?" Then he said, "I didn't. It's my birthday." I sort of froze, then had this thought, "If I don't marry him, I'll think about him every year on my birthday." Well, I did marry him.
