We had helped to pack up the trucks for my folks before leaving for Memphis. When we got back, they were unloaded and in their new house. It was a great chance to clean and straighten and find priceless treasures. I mentioned to my mom where I was putting her wedding dress, sealed in its box since the 1960's. She said, "Take it out." I had never seen her dress, though I remember wanting to badly when I was a girl.
It was stunning. My girls tried it on. They were stunning.
I love that my mom decided it was time to open it. My girls will never forget this.
