Prague Blog: Castle's Ancient City Street

We came back out of the castle to more beauty. Blue is my favorite color.

Tucked back behind the castle was an ancient city street, called Golden Street, so named for 16th century alchemists who had to look there (according to tradition) for a reaction to produce gold. The houses were tiny and colored. I am 5'6" and had to duck to go inside. They were beautifully preserved and filled with time-accurate furnishings. I really enjoyed seeing them. This bedspread with his long fringe coated in wax reminded me of something I've seen in my mom's attic!

A toilet!

This one was the herbalist's home.
