On the day we visited Capernaum, we also went to Bethsaida (Remember? "Woe to you, Bethsaida!")
The rocks that remained from this ancient town were all made of dark basalt.
One thing I loved (loved!) was all the printed Scripture throughout the country. I started photographing all the Scripture I saw.
This became fascinating to me, in light of all the commands by God to destroy the places for pagan sacrifices. When digging in this site, they found the remnants of idol worship. Remember all the Scripture than mentions tearing down the "high places"?
We did a quick walk through Bethsaida, then we were off to the other "Woe To You" Chorazin.

As I was telling my mother about your trip she mentioned the woe-to-you places. She had really wanted to see them but her tour guide passed them by.
Really enjoying these posts, Sara.
