After we arrived, settled in, and hung out, it was time to get some food. We went to the Firin Express, a great little pide restaurant. The first time we went there, we chose it because the prices were posted. No negotiations at the end, just a fair-priced pide. We chose some different varieties that we don't normally see offered. Spinach and cheese...eggplant, pepper, and tomato...and of course, the standby favorite of the kids' : cheese and tomato.
The next morning we were served breakfast compliments of Hassan Bey at the Vineyard Cave Hotel. His breakfasts always hit the spot. Very Turkish and very delicious.
Fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, fruits, olives, and cheeses. A little salomi, mounds of bread. A fluffy omelette. Homemade jelly and home-produced honey.
Just down the road there was a little broken-down playground. One thing I appreciate about my kids is the way they are content with what is offered. The broken-down-ness of it didn't bother them a bit. They also had some exercise equipment at this little park. Big Ben and Sweet Cheeks found they could create a standing seesaw out of it. It helps that they are the same kilo/pounds (Big Ben is 3, Sweet Cheeks is 6!)
After a little while, we set out for our hike to Pigeon Valley. More on that tomorrow!
