Last night we were asked to attend a dinner in recognition of Romania's National Day. It is such an honor to have so many precious students from so many nations at our school. I taught a Romanian boy last year, who I just adored. He was all boy. Every jacket he wore to school was a canvas army coat. Every toy he picked from the prize box was some sort of car/truck/boat. In those afternoons of teaching him, it was a sweet reminder of my little "all-boy boy" at home napping. This year, I teach another Romanian student, a girl. I realized last night after talking to her mom, she is a cookie-cutter copy of her mom, a beautiful Romanian woman. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed seeing many of our school parents. (Small disclaimer: my coat is NOT real fur! CC was given a gift card by some of our Korean families last year for a department store. He used it towards my Christmas present, this faux fur coat. Though it's not the real thing....it sure is nice and snuggly warm. An added bonus when I wear it, is that my children pet me like I am a giant jackrabbit.)

Grr- the picture won't come up! I think PETA would have a hay day here; every one has a fur coat- from the little ones on up! I went to a coffee hosted by the French wives yesterday and for lack of a better word, it was so FRENCH! Great food and fun company with the international wives! Oh, and the best appetizer I've ever had (tomato/apple chunks and pesto- sounds so weird but it was amazing!).
