This dear friend arrived several years ago...long ago enough that my now almost-junior-high-daughter had her as a second grade teacher. She has faithfully served our school. I could go on and on about her talents, maturity, servant-spirit. But the thing I want to focus on today is the way she has met a need for me. She has given Firstborn extra responsibilities at school, spent time with her, and made her see how much she is valued as a person. While doing all this, she has set a wonderful example of a godly, young lady.
The other night, I found Firstborn huddled in her closet, making a pair of earrings for this special teacher's birthday.
